Today, however, is a milestone.
Today, she starts kindergarten.
I woke her up this morning to give her a bath. I figured it was important for her to be clean and attentive her first day of school. She was sleepy, and so was I.
How about a smile?
There is nothing yummier than a bowl of cereal before school.
After I fixed her a healthy lunch, I packed
her lunchbox, made sure her teeth and hair
were brushed , and we headed out the door.
It was so exciting walking her in to the school for the first time. I could see the look on her face as we walked down the hall and it was filled with wonder and curiosity. I could also sense her nervousness. Her hand clenched a little tighter the further down the hall we walked. As we got to her classroom, the teacher already knew her name and greeting her with a "Good morning, Emma"! This is all she needed. She let go of my hand and walked into class very proud and brave.
Everything was going to be just fine.
